Meet The Creator
"My name is Kayla Eggleston and I am currently a senior in the Animal Science
Health and Technology program at the Trumbull Career and Technical Center. In
order to graduate I must successfully complete a project pertaining to my
program. I will be researching dogs with cancer for my senior project. I chose this topic
because I am interested in the animal health field. After weeks of debating what
I wanted to research, I finally settled with canine cancer after discovering a
website for canine cancer awareness. Dog owners who had dogs with cancer could
write in stories about their beloved pets and post cute pictures of them in the
canine memorial section of the website. As I scrolled through the stories, they
really touched my heart and spoke to me. It was at that moment that I knew I had
to spread awareness of pet cancer. What better way to do that than through my
senior project? People do not normally associate cancer with their pets, and I
think it is time to change that."

My Best Friend Has Cancer: The Blog
The blog is one of my outreach products from my senior project. It is a moral support blog for pet owners who are going through the rough journey involved with owning a pet with cancer, as well as for those owners who have made the decision to stop their beloved pet from hurting any longer, and those who have watched their best friend's soul pass on. I hope that this blog will serve as an inspiration in all the lives of cancer pet owners.
